AION 2 Enhancement: Budget the Costs That Do Not Return

Separate a reported Enhancement Stone refund from currency and socket-material spending, especially when the piece will soon be replaced.

Quick answer

Fextralife’s January enhancement guide reports Enhancement Stones returning on extraction while Kina, Manastones and Theostones do not. Its October beginner page repeats the stone-versus-Kina distinction. Plan temporary gear around the full spending cost, not only the material described as refundable.

Separate refundable stones from sunk currency

The older enhancement page describes Kina and Enhancement Stones as the usual inputs, with dedicated scrolls for specific accessories. It recommends long-term items before spending heavily across equipment that will be replaced. The important accounting point is that receiving stones later does not undo every expense now. A player can preserve stone value and still reduce the currency available for the next useful upgrade.

The guide recommends Revelation Amulet and Noble Belt because it reports an upgrade path that keeps those items useful, but its January date and unspecified regional scope prevent treating that path as a confirmed Global recipe. Read the current item and menu before budgeting a rare-to-epic conversion or a +10 threshold. Similarly, the same page briefly discusses enchantment failure; that is not proof that enhancing, socketing and extracting share identical rules.

Read the enhancement and extraction previews

  1. Identify whether the selected piece is a short-term replacement or an item with a verified continuing upgrade path for your service.
  2. Read the current enhancement preview and list each cost separately: currency, stones and any additional item.
  3. Set a temporary-gear spending limit based on the benefit needed for the next activity, preserving currency for known later needs.
  4. Before extracting a piece, read which materials the live confirmation returns and which investments it consumes.
  5. After the change, record the actual currency spent and materials returned so the next decision uses the full cost.

Reserve currency for the replacement

For a purely hypothetical plan, spending 1,000 Kina and receiving all stones back still leaves 1,000 Kina spent if the stated rule applies; the number illustrates accounting and is not an in-game fee. Compare that irreversible currency cost with the value of advancing now and the chance of replacing the piece soon. This page does not certify current extraction returns or failure probabilities. It offers a specific replacement-and-refund budget based on dated source reports.

Choose the source that also fixes your current progression gap. An unopened first-clear reward is useful when you need both stones and permanent upgrades. Keep your temporary-gear Kina budget even when more stones become available: a larger stone stock does not refund money already spent.

What the check date means

The dated source records and this article’s wording were reviewed on October 7, 2026. “Last checked” means source and editorial review. No current game client, account, installation, purchase or reward delivery was independently tested. Older sources retain their original dates, service regions and version limits.
