AION 2 Gladiator: Set Up the Knockdown Follow-Up
Use the reported knockdown and follow-up relationship, then choose between an extended melee exchange and moving out of danger.
SPACE4GAMES reports Mocking Blade knocking enemies down and Overhead Slam punishing those targets, alongside Greatsword attacks and some HP recovery. Use the status relationship when it actually lands; the report does not prove every boss accepts knockdown.
Recognize the knockdown before the slam
The class’s distinctive decision is sequencing a useful status before the attack that benefits from it. Starting the follow-up without the required state can waste the reason for choosing the combo. Watch whether the target is actually down rather than relying on the order of button presses alone. The September guide describes an off-tank and melee-sustain profile, but that is a role summary rather than proof that any incoming attack is safe to absorb.
The same report names Leaping Slam as a movement option and Defiance as a crowd-control escape. Those tools solve different problems: reaching a useful target and recovering control of your character. Treating both as extra damage buttons can leave no answer to the next positional or control problem. Korean long-fight comparisons are especially unsuitable as a promise for the adjusted global season. Use the live kit to choose the immediate action instead of building around a copied damage ranking.
Connect the knockdown setup to Overhead Slam
The linked gaming.tools Global leveling planner supplies a second, newer reference for a starting preset. The named relationships below are its recommendations; compare them with the skills actually unlocked on your character.

| Skill or relationship | Reported purpose | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Mocking Blade / Wrath Wave | Reported knockdown setup | Look for the downed state |
| Overhead Slam | Follow-up made available by the setup | Use the visible opening |
| Crushing Wave / Rending Blow | Pack-clearing choices; Wave has reported HP absorb | Separate sustain from immunity |
| Leaping Slam | Move between targets or packs | Check the landing area |
- Open this class’s linked Global leveling planner and set your character level.
- Enter the build from a new character or its armory-loading option; inspect the proposed Daevanion nodes before spending skill points.
- Compare one proposed skill relationship in a short encounter before copying its whole preset.
This is a fan planner checked October 7. Its level-dependent plan is a reference, and no current damage ranking, automatic macro behavior or complete endgame build was independently tested.
Practise a setup and one follow-up
- Read the live knockdown skill and follow-up description, identifying the target state that makes the sequence useful.
- Choose a target that can actually receive the reported status, and inspect the result after the setup attack.
- Use the follow-up when the state is present rather than assuming that a resistant or missed setup still created the opening.
- Keep an appropriate movement or control-recovery option available for the encounter instead of using every tool in the initial sequence.
- After the exchange, compare successful status setup, time in melee and damage taken before adding more skills to the sequence.

| Situation | Choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Target is knocked down | Use the relevant reported follow-up | The sequence has its intended condition |
| Setup is resisted or misses | Reassess the next action | The expected state may be absent |
| Enemy moves out of useful reach | Consider a deliberate movement tool | A combo needs a reachable target |
| Incoming pressure exceeds recovery | Move or use appropriate defense | Reported sustain is not invulnerability |
Review missed setups and unnecessary damage
If the early sequence feels inconsistent, reduce it to the setup and one meaningful follow-up until you can see what happens. Then add another action for the actual next problem, such as reach or control recovery. The report’s Lifestealing Blade description is not used to promise a current healing percentage, and no Korean long-fight threshold becomes a global benchmark. The practical goal is reliable conditional sequencing with a safe next decision, not memorizing an untested maximum-DPS rotation.
SPACE4GAMES September 27, 2026 pre-launch report mixes Launch Scale Test observations and Korean experience. This is an attributed role plan, not a current global damage ranking or gameplay test.
