AION 2 Pets and Mounts: Acquisition and Black Dragon Scope
Compare pet acquisition, mount controls and the recorded Ultimate Black Dragon entitlement while keeping Taiwan progression and Global gifts separate.
A pet and its riding form belong to the same companion system in NC’s source material. The Global Ultimate Founder’s Pack lists Pet: Black Dragon; that product record is separate from free launch mail and from a monster-acquired regional pet. Start with the exact pet name and service before following an acquisition route.

| Record | What is established | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Global Pet: Black Dragon | Listed in the Ultimate Founder’s Pack and matching upgrades | The owning receipt, exact pet and product delivery |
| Global Launch Rewards chest | Pet gifts announced through automatic mail | Campaign eligibility, mail expiry and selection choice |
| English special-site celebration | Two mount gifts announced via mail | That promotion’s own deadlines and regional scope |
| Taiwan monster/reward pet | Official regional guide describes soul points and reward acquisition | The pet detail’s acquisition source and your collection progress |
Use the pet detail as the acquisition starting point
- Open the pet list for the service you play and search the exact companion name.
- Inspect its appearance and riding preview so a dragon-shaped pet is not confused with a different dragon or with a wing item.
- In the Taiwan guide, the details include acquisition and ownership effects. Follow that recorded source; the guide gives monster soul points and reward pets as different methods.
- For a gift, use the campaign’s mail or code route. For a purchased entitlement, match the account and receipt before reporting delivery.
- If the claimed monster/source is absent in your current region, stop using an older regional farming route as a Global promise.
Ride the companion in a supported area
The Taiwan guide says to equip the selected pet and press C while on land to mount. It notes restrictions in some areas, including Expeditions. Confirm your current key binding and whether the area permits riding; possession of a pet does not prove that riding is allowed in every instance.
- Select the intended pet and verify its equipped state.
- Try the current mount binding in an ordinary permitted outdoor area.
- If it does not activate, compare the location restriction and current key setting before assuming the pet is missing.
- Keep mount movement separate from wing flight. The captured sources do not establish that the Black Dragon flies through every aerial mode.
Check the Black Dragon entitlement before spending
NC’s product table names Pet: Black Dragon in Ultimate and the corresponding Standard/Deluxe-to-Ultimate upgrades. This is a historical product listing read on October 7; it does not prove that a pack is still on sale. Check the current official offer and your existing entitlement before considering a purchase.

| Situation | Next check |
|---|---|
| Ultimate receipt, no dragon in collection | Confirm owning platform/account and exact delivery instructions |
| Two free mounts expected from launch mail | Use that promotion’s eligibility and claim deadline |
| Monster soul points are progressing | Use the regional pet detail to check the required amount |
| Pet exists on another character or world | Check service-specific sharing; do not assume global account-wide access |
| An old video shows another dragon | Compare pet name, region, version and acquisition source |
NC Taiwan’s pet guide was updated August 14, 2026. It describes pets, collection counts and related progress shared among characters on the same server. That does not establish transfer between servers, global account-wide ownership or that Taiwan dragon sources exist in Global. No exact dragon drop rate, free-dragon farming spot or purchase delivery was tested.
