How to Play AION 2 by Region: Global, Taiwan and Korea
Choose an AION 2 service before creating an account, and understand the global regions and progress-transfer boundary.
Choose the service and check country eligibility first. Global supports Windows PC through Steam/PURPLE and has separate NA East, NA West, Europe, Latin America and Asia server lists. NC’s Global country FAQ restricts play and payments in 18 territories including China, Korea and Taiwan; those restrictions are different from the separate Taiwan/Korea service and their characters do not transfer.

| Your goal | Route to investigate | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Start on a North American global server | Global official site and Launch FAQ | Check launch entitlement and current world list |
| Play the Taiwan service | Taiwan official download/account support | Regional registration rules must be checked |
| Play the Korea service | Korean official page and support | Do not assume Taiwan account procedures apply |
| Use the same global progress in Steam/PURPLE | Follow official account linking | TW/KR migration is not included |
Prepare the account and client
- Open the official page for your chosen service and confirm it is the version you intend to play.
- Read registration eligibility and verification prompts on that service. This research does not establish foreign-phone acceptance or individual account eligibility.
- Download through the service’s official client route, then check the current access notice.
- For global Steam/PURPLE sharing, use official linking only after checking which account already holds your character.
If you are playing from the US
NC’s global FAQ confirms North American server locations. That is an announced service region, not a guarantee that every account, country or network can access every world. Confirm the launcher’s available service and current account rules before using a Taiwan workaround.
A VPN changes a network path; it does not establish registration eligibility, satisfy identity verification or transfer a TW/KR character into global service.
Check location eligibility before downloading Global
NC’s Global support FAQ lists these restricted territories: China, Vietnam, Cuba, Syria, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Macau, Russian Federation, Belarus, Belgium, Netherlands, Curacao, Bonaire, Saint Maarten, Aruba, Serbia and Slovakia. The restriction covers both payments and play; this is the publisher’s list checked October 7, not a personal eligibility assessment.
Create on the service you intend to keep
- Read the Global country FAQ, or use the Taiwan/Korea official service for a separately supported regional account.
- For eligible Global play, choose the retail Steam/PURPLE client on Windows PC.
- At character selection follow Region → Faction → Server; match all three with friends.
- Keep existing Global progress on its original NC/Steam identity when sharing platforms.
- If a country or identity prompt blocks registration, use the official service’s support route; a network-path change is not evidence the account is eligible.
