AION 2 Platforms: Steam, Windows and Controller Support
Read the global FAQ’s Windows support and controller limits before planning to play on Steam Deck, Linux or a console.
NC’s global Launch FAQ officially supports Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC. It says controller play is possible but not officially supported, and other devices may work without official support. The reviewed announcements do not establish a PS5 release.

Steam and PURPLE account choices
The Launch FAQ says both platforms share the same in-game content and servers. You can play on Steam without linking a PURPLE account; linking is needed if you want the same character and progress available through both.
Check before committing to a device
- Open the publisher’s global download links and verify the Steam app identity, 3393110.
- Read the latest platform FAQ for your operating system and input device.
- If you depend on a controller, check movement, combat, inventory and menu navigation in an available test before buying an optional pack.
- Keep account-linking and progress requirements separate from whether the client launches.

Use the released app, not the old Playtest
The current Steam store identifies NC as developer/publisher, app 3393110, and October 5, 2026 as its release date. NC’s transition notice instructs Steam test participants to uninstall the Playtest app and install AION 2 separately.
Switch platforms without starting a replacement character
- For a Steam-origin character, launch PURPLE and select its Steam login option; use the same Steam account.
- For a PURPLE character created through an NC or other login, first sign in to that original NC account and link your intended Steam account through Manage Login.
- Confirm the character, region and server before claiming products or changing other links.
- If the character disappears after changing a link, stop changing identities and use the official missing-character recovery FAQ.
NC support describes same-character access through both platforms, while the founder-product notice still says products/play use the purchase platform. Treat the support route as character-access guidance; it does not prove a purchased product transfers between storefronts.
